| Me and Michael would like to attend the day at zsl on 19th October if that is ok, we have enjoyed doing the eel trap monitoring and are sad for it to end, hopefully we will be asked to help next year. Thanks Colin and Mike | |

| No eels in the trap, if we are stopping the checks will the ZSL take the cages out of the traps so any late eels can pass through or shut them down completely. | |

| Spot on mate, they will be taking the cage out but the actual pass remains. There is a new pass going in under the boat rollers (which are being replaced), but does not affect the existing one but may change the results. | |

| A lot of the weir is being replaced next year with a lot of pile driving which may ruin the fishing in the weir pool for most of next year, not good news. Also I have been told the results of the electro fishing by the EA were very poor, has anyone heard the results. | |

I understand they did them very recently when it has turned cold. I wonder if many fish were therefore deeper down and not so susceptible to being stunned? Or worse case, if the floods we had earlier in the year took many of them?

Are you refering to Molesey main weir or the back weir which we are not allowed to fish? Please will you publish further details of the proposed works on the weir. There were recent extensive works to replace the the summer boards with sluice gates, what else is there to do? Thanks in advance for any information.

| I am hoping to make it along to this - didn't realise we had to confirm before the 8th Oct.
Hope it'll be ok - I am sure there'll be some no-shows.

| The event was well attended with the above mentioned from the TAC along with I guess around 40 others, thanks for making the effort chaps Very interesting talks by the EA about the whole Eel management programme in the Thames Basin, the by Joe P on the volunteers work in checking all the traps followed by a very informative talk about Mitten Crabs. It was rounded off by a presentation by the Wandle Trust about improving Eel passage along the Wandle, fish passes, traps etc, great work going on down there. The final results from traps are as follows: Medway-Allington LockTotal: 1079 Elvers: 977 % Elvers: 91% Cray- Hall PlaceTotal:1 Elvers: 1 % Elvers: 100% Lee-Bow LocksTotal: 13 Elvers: 13 % Elvers: 100% Wandle-Abbey MillsTotal: 139 Elvers: 19 % Elvers: 14% Crane-Crane ParkTotal: 0 Hogsmill-Middle MillTotal: 1 Elvers : 0 Thames-Molesey LockTotal: 133 Elvers: 30 % Elvers: 23% | |
