| Checked the trap today at 16.30 with Jeff it was empty apart from some plastic tubes that have swum in from somewhere. I'm away now in Egypt for 2 weeks so won't be available to check the trap. | |

| I had my training session with Joe yesterday morning and hit lucky first time with 3 little wrigglers, measuring in at a mighty 167, 132 & 125 mm. David, Joe wasn't sure whether I should upload the data or whether you do it. If its me can someone please confirm the ZSL URL please? | |

| Cheers Neil, glad it went well. I will upload all the data no probs, it was best when we started to keep it central to save duplications. | |

| Numerous grebes coming up with loads of boot laces... just a bit of anecdotal evidence for you! Saw a big ol' gull tearing a large dead eel to shreds yesterday too!

| Message from Joe to the Eel team Morning Everyone I hope you are all well. October 19th is the date for the next ‘Eel Update’ at ZSL London Zoo, please put it in your diaries and let all your volunteers know. As last year there will be a few talks , lunch and then a chance to have a look at some of the behind the scenes work going on at the zoo. More details will be with you in September. It’s an opportunity for everyone involved to find out more about what is being done for eels in the Thames river basin and also for us to say thank you for all the time and energy that has been put into the project. I hope as many volunteers can come along as possible . Best wishes Joe | |

| Dave have you had any feedback on the numbers of eels in our trap compared to other rivers? Or compared to what ZSL thought we'd get? | |

| Not as such, I have just got the numbers input into the ZSL site to check back against and we are just over a 100 so far.
I know the Hogsmill trap is Zero and chatted to Joe about that last week. We concluded that the splash weir under Clattern bridge is probably inpassable. Discussed putting a pass on there but maybe issues as its a historic monument, one to follow up on.
There is the day at the ZSL October so guess all will be revealed about the overall success.
