| Doing riverfly up the Crane with Trevor this morning, thought it was next weekend but been brought forward for some reason. Remember all your buits & battereies and hope to see you next weekend instead. (ps. Joe said padlock# may be 3337 - looks like "EEEL". So try EELS 3375 if that don't go)

| Right the new lid is on. And so are new padlocks which I've left at the factory settings ie. 0000. Nothing at all in the trap today though it wasn't flooded, which was a result. | |

| Great lid Patrick, top work, impressed The LH padlock jammed after I opened it so left in place, just not locked. Head water is very high so the trap brimmed and overflowing, crab x 1, eels = 0 Early days and nice to get checking again | |

| Went down today, big tides the last week.... 48, (forty eight) counted and measured. Patrick is going to have a quick check Sunday as normally means more will be up.

| Update from Joe:It seems to have been a slow start to the eel migration for most sites. The eel totals from the ZSL database as of June 1st are shown in the table below. If your site records differ from these please do let me know or upload any outstanding data you may have. Site | Total as of 01/06/2016 | Ash- Colne Off-take | 3 | Lea- Bow Locks | 55 | Brent- Stoney Sluice | 109 | Hogsmill- Middle Mill | 9 | Lea-Lea Bridge | 1017 | Home Park | 8 | Dukes River- Mogden | 36 | Medway- Allington Lock | 29 | Thames- Molesey | 0 | Thames -Teddington | 0 | Abbey Mills- Wandle | 25 |
Chris and I are still trying to work with CRT to get the necessary repairs to the pass at Stoney, we can only apologies to the frustrated Brent volunteers for the delay, and will update when we have more news. This year’s Eel Forum is planned for the morning of October 11th – please put the date in your diary as we’d like to see as many of you up at ZSL, London Zoo as possible. It is our one opportunity to properly thank you all for your efforts over the season. We’ve already booked Jack Perks to come and present http://www.jackperksphotography.com/ and, of course, you will get an update on the eel conservation work across the region. On July 8th we have organised a Siene Netting Demonstration on the Thames as part of our Smelt Conservation Project – places are limited so please do register on the link at the bottom of the attached flyer soon if you’d like to attend. It will be your opportunity to see other fish that live in the Thames and hear about some of ZSL’s other aquatic projects in London. Once registered you will receive more detailed instructions on location and timing. Date upload problems- we have had a number of reports of people unable to upload data from smart phones. It doesn’t seem to be a problem for all phones and it’s not an issue from PC’s or laptops. The digital team are trying to sort it out but in the meantime we hope it’s not inconveniencing those of you that like to upload data on the go too much. All the best to you all and thank you, Joe Joe Pecorelli

Today's haul was 28, plenty of small ones which is good news, though do fancy Patrick's leviathan from the weekend.
