Bringing the Site into Disrepute From time to time there will be disputes on the forums, and with so many passionate Members this is hardly surprising. If you feel that a situation has been dealt with unjustly then please make your case in the appropriate manner. You can post constructively in the "General Fishing Forum" forum, or contact one of the Association Officers, Moderators or Admin Team. Posting destructively on the open forums is considered to be bringing the site into disrepute and will be deemed as a breach of the site rules.
Disputes The Association Team of Officers, Moderators and Administrators reserves the right to have the final say in any rule dispute.
Rule Breakers In an effort to ensure consistency and fairness across the forum boards, the Association operates a 'Three Strikes' policy applicable to acts of misconduct, both on the site and/or at TAC events. Additionally the Association Officers reserve the right to apply this policy to Members whom persistently break other lesser site rules. In the circumstances that an act of misconduct is deemed to be serious, the Association reserves the right to withdraw membership to the site immediately and without any warning whatsoever. Warnings last for a minimum period of six months, after which time they may be removed at the discretion of the TAC Association Officers. In the first instance The TAC Association Officers will contact the Member concerned and advise them of the breach of site rule/s, and this will be deemed a first written warning. In the second instance The TAC Association Officers will contact the Member concerned and advise them of the breach of site rule/s, and this will be deemed a second and final written warning. The Member will also be advised should they commit any further breach of the site rules, their membership to the site will be withdrawn indefinitely. Further instances Notwithstanding any relevant-mitigating circumstances, the TAC Association Officers will contact the Member concerned and advise them of the breach of site rule/s, and the offending Member will have their membership of the forum withdrawn indefinitely, as per this "Three Strikes" policy.
Disclaimer The Association makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, with regard to the posted communications or information contained therein. The Association is not responsible for defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of any author posting to this forum.
The Association reserves the right to remove any postings from this forum at its discretion; this reservation creates no affirmative duty in the Association and failure to exercise this power shall not subject the Association to any liability of any sort. This will include any requests by posters for their content to be removed from the TAC Association forum. Persons posting to this forum hereby agree to abide by all applicable laws both National and International and to accept legal responsibility for the contents of their communications. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact a member of the Association Officers, or the Moderator and Administrator Team. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. While the TAC Association Officers, Administrators and Moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is not always possible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the TAC Association Officers, Administrators, Moderators or Webmaster (except for posts by these persons), and hence will not be held liable.
If you participate in a discussion, you are responsible for ensuring that any material you post to the Tac Association Forum (text, images, or other multimedia content) does not violate or infringe upon the copyright, patent, trademark or any other personal or proprietary rights of any third party, and is posted with the permission of the owner of such rights.
The TAC Forum ~ Posting Guidelines General Please take a look at the recent posts in the relevant forum before you post your topic. The question or comment you wish to post may have already been discussed, answered, or resolved recently. Create a strong title for your topic that easily explains your enquiry. For example: "Which fishmeal do you recommend and Why?" rather than "Help me!". Be patient whilst waiting for replies, the Members of this site are using the forum and participating in discussions in their own time.
Crossposting Please post your topic to one forum only. Posting the same question in more than one forum can cause confusion and most likely reduce the chance of a reply. Try and post the topic in the correct forum, you are likely to get more relevant replies this way. If you feel your topic needs to be moved to another section, please alert a member of the Moderating or Admin Team.
Foul language The Association encourages the frank exchange of views and opinions and whilst bad language can be part of this process, the site does not condone it and would ask you to consider the family aspect of the forum, if you wouldn't like your family to read bad language, then don't post it. In which case, the Association Team reserves the right to edit or remove any such material considered to be offensive.
Name calling and personal attacks Please, no personal attacks or name calling. This includes talking about groups of people, not just individuals. We can be proud of ourselves in being a tight-knit community that polices itself well, and we would very much like to keep it that way.
Spamming Linking to websites for the purpose of making genuine recommendations to fellow Members, or suggesting relevant-alternative content (which you have no commercial connection with), is permitted. Anything else considered to be spamming, plugging, advertising, or for the purpose of promoting a commercial interest - which you receive some benefit from - will be removed at the discretion of the Association Team. Anyone wishing to advertise on the forum in any capacity should contact a member of the TAC Association Officers.
Text talk We recommend you do not post using text talk. Many of the more experienced Members are not familiar with this, and usually ignore posts of this type. For the maximum response to your enquiry, please use regular language.
Private messaging Private messages are subject to the same conditions as forum postings, eg private messages should not be defamatory, obscene, abusive or unlawful. Forum users should report any unsuitable messages by emailing admin. Please don’t use the forums to complain about private messages If you send any unsuitable private messages we reserve the right to temporarily lock your account while we investigate. In extreme circumstances (eg harassment), this may involve logging into your account to check your messages.
Thank you
These rules and guidelines have been put in place in order to keep the forum a pleasurable place to be - our aim is to make the site enjoyable and informative for all, and with your co-operation, we can continue to grow and do well.
