Molesey Eel trap results 2013

New thread for checking the Eel trap and posting up results.

This year we welcome some non anglers to the fold which is great news, delighted that the trap we host is being looked at further afield. Our new volunteers will be posting on here and Joe has also requested to do so

So next weekend, who wants the first check (with a caveat that the river is not up too much)

Thanks for the offer!I would love to but this Saturday I'm at the Natural History museum. next Saturday should be fine however if that's any good for you.

wot r the timings for tomorrow, i wil turn up on me new trusty stead, need the exersize, it will take me about 3/4hr to get there if wind is blowing behind me

Sorry I forgot to check the forum before the weekend! I can come next weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. Does it have to be 10am? Only it takes about an hour and half to get there!

Popped down today and nothing to report, lovely to be out in the sunshine though

Charlie I am working Saturday but can do Sunday, unless one of the others is around

I can go Friday, 2morrow, be there around 1100/30hrs, as on me look out for any think fishy time, need the exisize on me new bike to get rid of me big fat belly, all H/S rules will be hadeared 2

cant do satuday Dave, as going to twickuham, army and navy ruby match, going to see some X army mates who i hav'nt seen in 20 odd years and will properly never see again

COULD,NT DO TODAY, AS had to go some were, polictics, just got back in,

Been thinking about how we move it on this year in terms of checking the trap.

So have a had a great idea which will make it much easier and not sure why we did do this before. Also given that we have new people Alex and Charlie , and will be a few more.

Starting 4th May, Saturday at 10:30 am will be the regular time to meet up and check the trap,
guess we call it the 'eel Hour' Lets aim to be opening the trap at 10:45 am, so need to be on time or miss it.

As ever post up on here if you can get down, its a regular time so more the merrier and a great way for all to have hands on experience, but please do post up attendance either way.

Midweeks are still casual as to who can get down and on what day. But if you are passing midweek, feel free to just drop in, come July it will be peak time and looking then for 2 midweek checks to ensure fish welfare.



Thanks for supporting this highly important conservation programme. We are the furthest upstream trap on the Thames, so playing a critical role in future eel management plans.

NB: This weekend I will be be down on Sunday at 11am as on the previous thread.

Train gets in at 11:03 tomorrow, so should be with you at 11:15. New plan sounds super, I'm away over bank holiday, and again at the end of May but apart from that I'll be at as many Saturday's as poss. Charlie
