I went last year and as I've been relatively busy of late I wasn't sure whether to put my name down again this year.

Enjoyable morning at the 2013 Thames Eel conference, met up with Neil and Alex D met us there.

Talks given by Joe (ZSL) about the overall years results, Darryl (EA) about Eel passage including some do' and donts, and Andy Thomas from the Wild Trout Trust.

Andy talked about the work they creating new habitat on rivers and how this can be done practice , fascinating stuff and after doing one of their days myself, they are good at it.

well read it over the weekend, just hope for a few more people to help out next year, wearing me tries/legs/hips/body out on me poor old push bike lol!

had a ride down to hampton court on the tow path, had a look at the eel site, not looking to good, needs a good clean up, area full of snells and musels, dead ones that have bin eaten by the birds, the hole of the pipe needs a good pull though, so need a power sprayer, top's taken off and re-staped on, did'nt see the cage as it was full of mud, the cage lid is missing, apart from that, it is still in one peice

, was on my list to get down there.

I will contact Joe and the EA about the lid, it may have been taken off, the cage comes out and is stored away. I will get a date up for us to go down and sort it out, I think the covers need to come off, but need to source some of those metal straps.

just wondering, has any one cheacked the eel pass we helped set up in kingstone last year in that river that goes pass the kingstone councile offices, the bit you cant fish and their are lots and lots of record breaking chub sitting their and sticking their fins up at us Sad
