todays resuilts are the following, by the jack and me

most elvers were on average bigger then normal, average size was around 85 to 95mm

totle was 81,

bigist was 110

pic come later, after i have had a coffeee, and me rear end is better, Brooks saddles are good, but not when they are brand new pirat

The tides must be receding, just 61 elvers this morning. On the other hand, isn't it great that I can say JUST 61. There was also one small loach.

Like Keith's catch yesterday these were slightly larger than usual. The longest was 120 mm with 3 * 100 mm and the rest between 75 and 90.

I've also put a couple of sets of plastic tweezers in the box, they make picking up dropped eels a lot easier.

2day, I found 43, from 75 - 110, plus the other elver/eel flow thingy was in full flow, water levels was just tusching the top of the wier, but not quite going over

And I did, but to my surprise there were only 7 eels this morning. The tides have been getting smaller these last few days so maybe that is something to consider. We'll have to see in 3 weeks time when the tides top 5m again.

Funny with the tides Neil, the biggies were end of last week into the weekend. Could it be the opposite is true and they travel on the smaller ones. Next week or so may show it, not sure.

Checked it today and 8 but found a problem.

The level upstream when looking at it at the sill (where we return the fish) was down around 6 inches from where it has been.

The pipe they put in was not working as the input end is barely above the level of the trap itself. I discussed it with Ed and managed to move it enough to get a very small trickle through but only very small.

Spoke to the Lock keeper who had complaints from some of the house boat owners about the level and presume grounding out and he closed 2 gates to raise it up, but still desperately low.

It's been raised as an urgent matter with the EA as the capital works on the weir and overall level control is now affecting fish migration. Not impressed at all today. Neutral

Will post up when I hear back.

Guys, Darryl from the EA is going down on Tuesday to look at the flow issue and have asked if he can count the eels and report back.

If all ok then a check Weds, Thurs depending on the outcome

Cheers Neil, I will post up when I hear the update from the EA. Pressing for the construction company to do more to mitigate the low levels they require for the weir works.

Intermittent flows down the trap but is being resolved. Joe checked today and found 10 but expecting many more just waiting for some attractant flow.

I am still unavailable this week so who can do the next few days, Sat is fine for 10:30.

Next week I can do everyday if needs be, following week is out, then I should Ok after that.
