| Hearing today that 2 elvers were found in the Hogsmill trap upstream of the new pass. Early days but signs are hopefull. They only had 3 all year before this, that is hard going so rewards even greater. | |

| Last week watched an eel of about 2 - 3 lb move from about 5 yards upstream of the pass all the way as far as you can walk beyond the council offices. Only a couple of foot of water so could see everything.
It looked like it wasn't even trying in the strong flow and when it wanted to kick on, it was gone in a flash. Awesome power.
As it went it was brushing the flanks of chub all along and they didn't flinch. Interesting to watch.
On a side note, have caught 5 eels in the last 2 sessions all around the 1.5-2lb mark - full moon turned them on maybe - anyway, there's no shortage of that age group in the river.

The Wandle Trust and the ZSL were talking about installing another one a little further up river as well Dave, apparently there's another obstruction. Richard
