just been notified that the fish pass at molesley is closed.it requires special permission to close a fish pass,as it prevents migration.the lack of flow may be the probable cause?,meaning others upstream may be closed?
the last time a fish pass was closed, was 5 years ago,its an extreme measure,so hardly happens.

can we get an update on this?

If there's any salmon left, shouldn't they have been migrating recently? They were the other week in that story where the EA had to build a ladder out of sandbags.

Wonder how long it's been closed for...

i didnt mean migration in the sense of going to sea and back as some game fish do.
i meant fish movement (all species).

Willie I have just asked the question at the EA so will let you know. There is planned works on the B weir but not until next year, seems odd.

Romney was closed whilst Hydro was going in, think that is open again now and am in the area Saturday so going to take a look.

Hi Dave

The fish pass on the back weir is always closed but the fish trap on the front weir should be running altohugh it may be slightly blocked. I am down there tommorow to check the trap and unblock it so I will take a look.

Thanks for letting me know
