Wonder how they got in there mate, can only think have been around for a while as say that it was routine survey by the EA.

Sounds pretty grim if they take hold, more pressure on smaller rivers for sure.

I met David Morritt a few weeks ago at an Eel meeting and is a nice fella, he is behind all the Mitten investigations on the Thames.


Guess folks lets report if we see any of these Mussels, get pictures etc. Ed, Trevor one for the kick sample checks on the Crane.

They look very similar to what I think are zebra mussels all along the semi tidal. I wonder if you can send samples in to an expert at the EA?

If they are quagga, maybe they will block up all the hydropower turbines...
