 | Subject: TDFC Open Day - St Patrick's Stream - Sat. August 17th Sat Aug 10, 2013 7:51 am | |
| Spotted this at the bottom of Ian Welch's recent Big Fish Column about Angling Data View: To finish this week more good news, this time for members of Twyford and District Fishing Club (TDFC), anyone thinking of becoming a member of TDFC or indeed any local anglers who want to enjoy a great social get together and enjoy some free fishing on some prime local venues with some excellent fishing tips and advice thrown in to boot.
The TDFC Open Day event starts at 8am on Saturday, August 17, and runs until late - midnight if required. The event is based at the main St Patrick's Stream car park in Loddon Drive, although the club have ensured there will be plenty of extra parking.
Anyone coming along can fish Upper St Pat's, Lower St Pat's, the Lower River Loddon or the TDFC section of the Thames totally free of charge (although an EA rod licence is required); if you don't want to fish then you are more than welcome to just wander around and chat, and there will be a number of knowledgeable local anglers on hand to show the venues, give tips, recommend swims, etc.
The club will be offering burgers, bacon rolls and soft drinks for sale on the day with all proceeds going to a local children's charity and Keith Speer and Dave Currall will be holding a number of stick float clinics, focussed on catching barbel on the float.
A brilliant initiative from one of our top local clubs and one from which all local anglers should benefit from.More info, directions etc. at the TDFC website | |
