| Family Fishing Fun Day at Little Britain Lake - Hillingdon Council The events will take place on Sunday 28th July and 11th August (9.30am - 3.30pm) (9.30am - 3.30pm) and will provide over 700 youngsters the opportunity to fish and our help is needed again. Little Britain Lake Packet Boat Lane Cowley UB8 2JR If you are interested in a day coaching kids, its always pretty chaotic but lots of fun. The format will be as before and we'll be provided food and refreshments throughout. They will need everyone there by 8am for breakfast and set up. All tackle is provided, so whips, bait etc but have learnt to take some of your stuff as well, flots, shot, hooks etc, a spare rod, maybe feeder, and chairs! So if anyone can come along please contact Alan Keep of Les Webbers Angling Projects who'll be working on the rota as before: alankeep@msn.com by the 31st May and let him know. (don't forget to mention that you are from the TAC and please place your name in this thread if you would like to attend). | |

| any one else turning up for this, the jack and me are going, we have Tpt for the day to get there and back things to take seats, at least 3, for the mums and dads, spare water, coffee, tea, normal fishing kit some spare bait there will be 2 locations to fish, one being on the lake, the other on river, most of the fish are caught on the river (barbel), a few from the lake, mostly perch and bream. this year, if I get the lake and the fish are not biting, I will set up a "set up a fishing rod" lesson, consisting of reel on rod, line though eyes, set up float, tiring hook to line, doing loop to loop, tiring hooks to line doing the good old palimore knot, size 1 or 2 hook, nice and big, and with the point looped off, hearth and safety and all that, so if the young and up coming fisher-persons do not catch anything, they will all know how to put a rod together for the next time they go fishing each fishing lesson last for around 3/4hr then new people turn up, you get 2 free meals, burgers, with or with out onions and tea or coffee, with or with out sugar and milk plus Keith Arther and a few other top fishing persons will be there so you can get your pics taken with them and you might get on TV, like I was last year, Tight lines, | |

| Very good day today, thanks Keith, Jack and Bridge, top work chaps Huge numbers of people through and luckily got a river swim with Minnows galore, seeing the kids (and adults) smiling faces means a huge amount. If only a few go on to buying some tackle and taking up our sport it will have been a success. Special word for all the volunteers who gave up their Sunday from clubs around the Colne Valley plus brilliantly organised by Hillingdon Council, Les Webbers Angling Projects and Get Hooked on Fishing. Until next year | |
