Dear Members of TAC, this is a message/plea for help, this is all to do with the things I am doing in Runnymede, ref fishing/wildlife and flowers, vie Runnymede Council and others, as some of you know I am starting up a fishing club, now, for these that don't known, you know now.

In July Surrey Wildlife Trust, God bless them, are doing a "Himalayan Balsam pull", see below,

This is just to confirm that we are organising a ‘Balsam pull’ at Sayes Court on Monday 15th July, starting at 10am. Surrey Wildlife Trust experts will be on hand to demonstrate the most effective way of dealing with the plants (apparently there is a right way and wrong way of doing it). So if you could drum up a few volunteers to could come down then, it would be much appreciated.

So if you and any of your friends would like to turn up and find out how to pull it properly, please fill free to turn up and ask the Surrey Wildlife Trust, God bless them, any question you fill fit, please, please do not ask about the "OTTER",

the location is Sayes court, Addlestone, on the Addlestone Bourne, I know this is on a monday, so most people will be at work, just notice that myself,

afterwoods, we could maybe have a quike fishing match for an hour or so, please do not being any rods over 10' long,



There will also be a second opportunity to help when we repeat the exercise on Chertsey Meads on the 18th.

Just come across this short film (on the Fly Fishing forums) showing the perhaps unexpected harm H Balsam & J knotweed can cause to the ecology of rivers. If they can reduce successful salmonid spawning then presumably they can also have an effect on coarse fish that spawn in gravels.

All goes to show those plants are better out than in & if there's a right way to do it then I'm all for learning the proper techniques (I never was much good at pulling ;-)

Please explain, what is the difference between the "right" and "wrong ways?
I can understand a need to get it early, well before it forms flowers & seed pods, if you pulled it & dumped it late in the season after seeds have formed it would probably still spread. But that's a "when" not "how".

Ed, eye am at loss, at a right or wrong way, personally, eye think its is just Surrey widelife trust, trying to, let me say that again, trying to flax its arms in Runnymede and trying to make me look silly, so my son and me and others will be there to take it all in,

don't forget this is coming from and organization that thinks, the reason why we have a mink problem is because of all us fur wearers, nothing to do with people breaking into the mink farms and letting all the little quitters looss, I got this from the person who works for Surrey wildlife trust,



one has to now be careful wot one says as one is now being spied on

just watched country file, on bbc, the bit about foraging for free food, found out that you can eat the seeds off Himalayan balsam, so next year, I recormend a contest, who can eat the most be fore it all comes up   and also you can make tea out of it as well
