8pm - 8:30pm Channel 4 Monday Feb. 3rd (repeat 9pm Ch4+1)
Antony Barnett investigates the state of the nation's sewers, meeting homeowners affected by the recent flooding who have ended up with raw sewage in their gardens, basements and even kitchens. He asks why prices have risen so rapidly while investment in old pipes has not materialised, and reveals the number of major leaks into rivers and streams.

Spoiler Alert!....

The floods that recently hit Britain have caused misery for thousands, but do you know what's actually in the flood water that has engulfed our towns and streets?

Dispatches meets homeowners unlucky enough to have found raw sewage in their gardens, basements and even kitchens.

And this is not a rare event. Twenty-five years after water privatisation, reporter Antony Barnett investigates the state of our sewers and asks why prices have risen so fast while investment in our old pipes hasn't materialised.

And it's not just homes; Dispatches can exclusively reveal the huge number of major sewage leaks into our nation's rivers and streams.

May even feature the Crane....

Bumping this to the top.  Well worth watching.
Well done Dave for your interview and highlighting the 2011 Crane pollution incident on national prime time TV. Dispatches: Floods - your money down the drain 3927873466

Coverage like that is a major achievement and helps to maintain the pressure.

P.S I spotted the photo I took of that dead baby pike in the opening sequence. Cool

Wondering if we can somehow get "#tsunamiofsewage" to be "trending" on twitter.
What if we take the "guess how many discharges from Mogden this year" competition to twitter & facebook with #tsunamiofsewage ...

Thanks Robin, glad to be part of giving Thames water a decent kick-in, fully deserved in my book.

Funny yes, became a twitter hashtag for a brief moment in time, my Warhol moment  Cool

Just watching it now as missed the 1st half due to work, realised they nicked a bit of the Thames fish kill video, cheeky buggers, oh well, message is loud and clear.
