Nice beaver (not!)

There's no way this could be described as "wild" without deceiving the reader - the species having become extinct in this country over 500 years ago. However, from the comments below the article, this fellow is evidently the only one of 3 escapees from a beaver farm down the road in Lifton to have evaded re-capture. I would have expected a far higher standard of reporting from a so-called "quality" paper.

Besides hi-lighting the sad state of journalism, the article shows that the general public have no sense of the havoc these creatures could or would wreak on the relatively tiny parts of this country (Scotland & Wales possibly excepted) that remain suitable for their habitation & so there's probably no hope of turning them against mass re-otterisation.
