From : http://utilityweek.co.uk/news/thames-water%E2%80%99s-river-kennet-abstraction-to-fall/1025912#.U7SBR_ldW4I

The EA is consulting on a reduction in Thames’ abstraction limit at Axford Pumping Station, from 13,100 cubic metres of water a day to 6,000, when the river levels are low. This is designed to protect the river, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The EA also wants to revoke the utility’s licence at Ogbourne Pumping Station.

Both conditions will become effective on 1 April 2017 subject to consultation and the licence will be reviewed in 2023.

Dave as I understand it they were going to take water from farmoor ressie for Swindon the main user of said borehole but due to cost of pipeline they didn`t ,it does have major effect on flow as we all know and on that note the worrying thing is the upper Thames is very near stationary already back to her normal lake like state soon I susspect
