It's an idea that's been going around angling circles for years - I think I first saw it mentioned in AT at least 20 years ago, it got all the canal anglers up in arms tho', maybe they couldn't use their poles if the GUC was flowing like the Avon........?

There was a survey a couple of years ago in which the EA (I think) asked for opinions on what the public wanted to do about water suppler and the environment - mayb they listened to waht people advised - there's a first time for everything I s'pose

I seem to remember reading that when the water companies were privatised that this was a plan they found and quickly binned it.
