| yes I know, what is the ATTRF ? Angling Trust Thames Region Forum
whose in it ? Angling Club reps from source to Dartford
what does it do ? It meets 3 times a year to give anglers opinions to the powers that be
ok, so what's it all about ?
firstly, don't think this is part of a gravy train, not unless you count eating sandwiches and chips as your evening meal, while taking notes and discussing our problems secondly, time is always of a premium, thirdly, many of the reps are retired, have been doing it for years, and are eager to hand over the reigns
topics discussed; included last years open meeting at heathrow which was deemed very good the need for the new river basin panels to have anglers sufficiently represented the creation of a new freshwater committee, by the Angling Trust the review of cormorant licenses a new code of conduct for anglers the canalising of the kennet and avon a new Angling Trust mag, which will be sent to members in April/May Hydropower and how the EA are failing anglers
and finally EA license sales, £500,000 from salmon licenses, £27 million from coarse anglers
so to sum up, what a tangled web angling is, don't expect it to become untangled soon those present are all doing their best, but need support and assistance those that are older, have been ground down by the years, but have no-one to fill their shoes
ponder the last statement for a while we owe it to them to continue there work, we owe it to the next generation, and we owe it to ourselves, to make things better experience counts for naff all, if you aint helping whereas the ability to learn can make a mahoosive difference
GET ON IT FOLKS, WE'LL HOLD YOUR HAND, THEY'LL HOLD OURS AND TOGETHER OUR RIPPLE WILL BECOME A TSUNAMI

- a new code of conduct for anglers
Mmmmm.....it's not down to the ATr, or anyone else, to tell me what to do/how to act on the bank. They need to be careful how they come across on this one. If its helpful advice to new anglers, then all well and good.

| m8, there aint nuffin wrong with a code of conduct, we already have one, as long as its sensible if it aint our governing body doing it, it'll be the police, councils or god forbid PETA | |

William i am guessing it`s refrain from battering Canoeists/Scullers/Gin palace drivers and narrow boatists even if they have just wiped out your rods /moored right in front of the bivvy Exceptions are the very nice lurvely female Scullers in there lycra who can of course do whatever they like only joking face Steve.

| I'd be surprised if every sport didn't have a code of conduct, angling has had one for yonks, probably since god was a boy if it affected our angling, we'd all know all about it, and I can't see that changing maybe including the need for an unhooking mat, would be deemed excessive, but not leaving litter or eating what lives in or on the river wouldn't
its our sport and our code of conduct, so we'll get it the way that's best for us
