any praise or problems with public slipways please post on this thread

river lane public slipway off petersham road near richmond, has a large launch area that is very user friendly, although parking can be a problem
ham street public slipway off petersham road, has wooden posts that are padlocked[who has key], that obstruct the two slipways, although there is very good parking,
put the two together and you have the best of both worlds, very good launch facilities, and very good parking, sadly they are about a mile apart

Walton: Aprox. .25 miles upstream of Walton bridge. Good wide slipway with easy road access. Free public parking close-by on the opposite side of the road with good, strong, iron bar low level fence to padlock trailers to (Height restriction). Would reccomend two anglers if possible, as the entrance of the car-park is about 100 yds away from the slipway. Beware... Under-water section is perilously slippery.

Weybridge: Opposite The Minnow pub in Thames St. Whoever came up with the idea of building a slipway with a bend in it? Very narrow, with high concrete bank either side. Unless you are very confident reversing with a trailer you will struggle with this one. Also, during summer levels the slip is very shallow, thus requiring you to back quite a way into the water. There is also a sudden drop off into deep water. If you allow your trailer wheels to go over this you will have major problems. - Free public parking in car park (height restriction) immediately adjacent to slipway. Sturdy fence to lock trailers to.

Sunbury: At the Sunbury end of Lower Hampton Road. Very badly maintained. Quite steep. The underwater section has broken up and consists of two rows of concrete blocks on the river bed. OK for launching small boats, but wouldn't want to try anything big. Runs into a calm section of backwater between two islands. Free public parking (height restriction) immediately adjacent to slipway, with metal fence to padlock trailers to.
