New quick dial numbers

The Environment Agency Floodline system has been updated, they have made some changes to the telephone river advice information.

The Floodline phone number remains the same 0345 988 1188.

  • Select option 1 for River information for boaters
  • When prompted, enter one of the quick dial numbers below for the area of the river you want to hear about.
  • If you call the quick dial number and the message states 'there are no messages for this area' then there are currently no boards being displayed at the locks.

You can still view river advice on:

Warning boards and what they mean

River Thames Conditions - Website & Quick Dial Numbers Ea-str11When we are displaying these boards at locks, we advise users of all boats not to navigate because the strong flows make it difficult and dangerous. Those in hire boats arriving at a lock where these boards are displayed should stop immediately and contact their hire boat operator to ask their instructions.
River Thames Conditions - Website & Quick Dial Numbers Ea-str10When we are displaying these boards at locks, we advise users of all unpowered boats not to navigate and users of powered boats to find a safe mooring. This is because river flows are likely to strengthen and red boards could be displayed very soon and without warning.
River Thames Conditions - Website & Quick Dial Numbers Ea-str12When we are displaying these boards at locks, we advise users of all unpowered boats not to navigate and users of powered boats to navigate with caution.
