| RICHMOND LOCK AND WEIR DRAW-OFF 2015 Weirs open 8th November – 29th November
In order to carry out essential maintenance works on Richmond lock, weirs and sluices and to carry out a riverbed inspection, it will be necessary to lift the weirs at Richmond for a period of 3 weeks. This will allow the river between Richmond Lock and Teddington Lock to drain down at low water on each tide.
The Draw-Off period will commence at approximately 14:35 on Sunday 8th November and will complete at approximately 19:00 on Sunday 29th November 2015.
So if we want to do a draw-off walk this year, we've got the following dates/times: Saturday 14th Nov - low tide 12:11 Sunday 15th Nov - low tide 12:50 Sat 21st Nov - low tide 16:41 (possibly getting dark by then) Saturday 28th Nov - low tide 12:02 Sunday 29th Nov - low tide 12:52

| Given the recent net discovery we should do this as soon as possible, then scout along for set lines, nets etc. - propose Saturday 14th November;
Bottom of low tide is 12:11 but level is usually pretty low down 2 hours before so meet at Ham St. car park, say 10am, walk upstream to the weir (opposite direction to last 2 times)

| In case you missed it, the draw-off is now in progress. Richmond half-lock sluice gates are permanently open, full tidal extends to Teddington until 29th November. | |

| We can push the meet-up time back a bit to 10:30 or 11:00 if you need more time?

| Ah sadly working mate, joys of shifts. Will try and get down and take a look maybe midweek. Though if the rain tops it up at all, levels could be near normal ?
have fun if you get out and pot some pics up

| Matthew and I went down to Richmond today, water was very low, not much flow, one of the lowest draw-offs I've seen in fact, reckon you could have waded right across just upstream of the half-lock in chesties with care. Wouldn't mind giving it a go, with a lifejacket & line surely would be a "first" in recent years? I got half-way across the first arch of Twickenham bridge just in wellies (middlesex side) and disturbed a reasonable flounder on the bottom; and you could get on to the first arch base of Richmond bridge completely dry. We collected about a dozen feeders, an old R.Whites lemonade deposit bottle and a few other trinkets. A woman was collecting a families life, credit cards, passports, keys, from a safe that has been dumped in. There is TV set dumped near Twickenham bridge in the mud as well. Didn't find any eels under the rocks this year, maybe too warm. Photos: https://picasaweb.google.com/105140280237210420217/DrawOff2015?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCOWR273E8dn3bg&feat=directlink | |

| It is very low, I guess until today we didn't have a lot of rain either.
I did turn some rocks last week down at Richmond, and found several tiny eels, and a bullhead!
