| We announced at the AGM that we're going to start having proper social meet-ups every couple of months. They'll be held at the Sunbury Ex-Services Club (same place as the AGM) not least because we can get a room there for free. I propose we'll have the first one just before the season opens, then the next one we can compare notes and see if our results matched our pre-season hopes Also we'll make it a bit of a bring & buy, bring your unwanted tackle along to sell or swap. It's looking like Thursday 11th 4th June will be the date. That date is a bit flexible but needs to be a Monday or Thursday so please post up here if you'd like to come but its a bit difficult for you.

| As much as I would like to attend these Bi Monthly meetings I fear that the traveling involved would make it differcult.I enjoyed the AGM and Martin Salter was on form with his Chocolate Manseer and truly amazing adventure being stalked by big cats and such. But the journey from Central London where I work took 2 hours plus, crawling though rush hour traffic and paying 10 and half quid Con Charge for the privilege.I got home at about 12.30 am.Good Luck to those attending. | |

| We will have to try and do the odd one in a pub up in town John, there must be enough people out that way as well, plus those of us who work up there.

| We have a room booked for this on Thursday, 4th June, 7:30pm, all welcome.
Have a beer and an banter, discuss plans for the new season. Bring your old tackle to sell/buy/exchange.
Sunbury Ex-Services Club, Crossways, Sunbury-On-Thames, TW16 7BG
The club is at the very far end of the road, past the Permier Inn, on the right hand side. Park behind the club. Or get train to Sunbury station and 5-10 minute walk.

| I'm unable to attend the social as I'm working late, but I would like to say that Marks and Spencers would like to offer a chance for a couple of people from my work to have a day off to help out with some voluntary clean - ups of the Thames on a local stretch, near Teddington, an e-mail has been sent to Dave but just incase can you let me know if thats ok, dates and equipment available, possibly some t-shirst, banner and more of the T.A.C peeps would be tremendous! A date and time should be thought up and made into concrete, get those swims clean and cleared ready for the start of the season!
Kind Regards
Oli | |

| I received that Oli and have replied, we havn't got anything planned right now but should get something organised on Thursday night. I also gave him some contacts up on the Crane as there is a lot of work going on up there now. Cheers, Ed | |

| Here's a bit of an "Agenda" of club items to discuss on Thursday
- Pike Day - these have been good in the past, and we could have it back at Walton again now the bridge is done.
- Litter pick down Teddington way - we've had an offer of manpower from Oli's work and havn't done anything down there for a while, so would be rude not to organise something.
- MiniHaHa - I met with the EA fisheries officer Pete Gray there today and we walked it from Richmond to Kew. It's an important habitat for eels and fish recruitment, but being choked by fallen branches and trees. I've also been in touch with the Thames Landscape Strategy people who are well up on the politics involved (council, crown estate, local armchair naturalists...) It will take some planning but there is a lot of work to be done to restore proper tidal flow to this habitat.
- Sea Lampreys - Yes real big 1.6m long sea lampreys breed along the tidal between Brentford and Richmond, Pete was telling me all about these prehistoric monsters
- Fishing platforms - ask Stu if there are any new fishing platforms going in which we can help with.
- Hydropower - not going to discuss this, fed up of hearing about it!
- Thames tunnel - is on its way now, no need to discuss it further
- Club finances - need to sort out the signatories on the club account

| Many thanks for coming along Neil and everybody else, I was very pleased with how it went together and hope we can carry on with these, it will make running the club a lot easier. Note to self for next time *must remember to bring a spare set of computer cables and accounts paperwork* I will try to write up some very short minutes over the weekend for the "agenda" items, pike day, record fish list and fishing platform work. | |
