Do you need a boat license for the Thames tribs and canals, does the Thames one cover this, are the rules the same?

A quick bit of Googling suggests that you need separate licences for each individual canal. Wey Nav from the National Trust and the Basingstoke from the Basingstoke Canal Authority.

Kev we have a gold licence for the narrowboat which covers us for the Thames and all of the canals apart from the River wey which is a national trust day or yearly licence ,Mrs sorts all this stuff but sure a quick google for navigation gold licence should turn up some info
