| Sadly many of these taking place up and down the county From the EA: Several issues with low oxygen levels on canals and still waters recently. Yesterday we were called to the Basingstoke Canal … The West Thames fisheries team carried out a fish rescue on the Basingstoke Canal at West Byfleet yesterday after local anglers rang our emergency hotline. Over two thousand fish were rescued from a section of the canal where duck weed covered the surface causing low oxygen levels. Our team found a number of fish already dead under the weed. Fish species such as roach, pike, tench, perch and bream were captured by electrofishing and transported in an oxygenated tank to a clear section of the canal with higher oxygen levels. Good work by the West Thames EA guys

| Fair play to the EA for doing as much as they could and saving a number of fish as well.
