| River Thames – river closure Sonning Bridge near Reading
Tuesday 22 November 2011 09.00 – 17.00
The River Thames at Sonning Bridge, near Reading will be temporarily closed to all boats from 09.00 – 17.00 on Tuesday 22 November. This is so repairs can be made to the centre arch of the bridge.
We apologise for any disruption this will cause to our customers.

| You have a full proper tide, high and low, just like below Richmond Lock there's no barrier in the way at all.

| River Thames – river closure Romney Lock
Monday 28 November to Friday 9 December 2011 Romney Lock will be closed during the above dates for power cable to be laid in the river bed upstream of the lock as part of the Romney Weir hydro electric power scheme. We apologise for any inconvenience this closure causes. Thank you for your patience during this time. | |

| I believe the locks only have emergency cover today due to the strikes. Maybe someone can confirm , sure i read it somewhere but cant find it now. | |

| River Thames – river closure Desborough Cut and Channel, Shepperton Saturday 21 January 2012 Weybridge Winter Head of River Directions for navigation and general information during this event: • Competitors will assemble from 09.30 for marshalling near to Weybridge Ladies Rowing Club below Shepperton Lock ready for the start of the race at 10.30 starting from the small weir above the Environment Agency Yard at Sunbury and finishing at the top of Desborough Cut outside Elmbridge Canoe Club. • Competitors will be despatched at intervals to row to Sunbury, via the Surrey side of D'Oyly Carte Island and the Desborough Channel. • To give competitors a clear course, the Desborough Channel and the channel between D’Oyly Carte Island and the Surrey bank will be closed to all boats between 10.00 and 14.00. • Those navigating upstream (including competitors proceeding to the start) should use the ‘Old River' via Haliford only. • No boats should obstruct, impede or interfere with the racing boats. • All boats should proceed with caution when in the vicinity of the racing boats. • No mooring is allowed in the Desborough Channel during the hours of racing. • The masters of all other moored boats should co-operate by mooring as close inshore as possible. | |
