Some sort of irony after all the recent pollution, the march of Hydropower, abstraction, invasive species, poaching...

Saw this all over the BBC news at lunchtime today, focussing on the Wandle mostly.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14710478
The thought "wot no sewage" came to mind.
Quote :
Ian Barker, head of land and water at the agency, said Britain's rivers were "the healthiest for over 20 years".
He said work with farmers, businesses and water companies to reduce pollution and improve water quality had paid off.
River habitats had also benefited from reductions in the volume of water taken by industry and farmers, he said.

Also in the Metro paper today, Little Britain star David Walliams is intending to swim 140 miles down the Thames from Lechlade to London for Sport Relief.
"If there's a lot of rainfall there'll be a lot of sewage so I've had to have loads of jabs" Walliams said.

Ooh and more sewage, on our beaches this time http://www.metro.co.uk/news/873821-top-british-beaches-are-flooded-with-sewage-every-week !

Apologies to David and James for linking directly to your forum photo's without asking first, but I noticed that it is possible to post comments beneath the photo's on the EA's press release and couldn't resist it.

Think that is a very good shout Smile

But on the upside, the work you guys did at Penton Hook is one of the many improvements that have been made.
