Well, your post got a bit more reaction than mine did, albeit mostly from Dickheads...........

They just don't get it do they?

They don't care about a few fish, but what they don't understand is that when a river gets polluted like this the whole eco-system is wiped out...........

Without the insect life there would be no Dragonflies, Damsels, etc. flitting about.

Without the Gudgeon, minnow and fry, there'd be no Kingfishers or other predatory birds that rely on fish to feed themselves

Without the green vegetation there'd be no Ducks and certainly no little fluffy chicks that they care so fervently about.

I watched SW last night because one of the presenters was on the reclaimed area of Pitsea Tip (just 5 minutes from me) - I had a good mind to Twitter the programme live - to ask if she could get herself down to the River bank for a bit of Turd spotting.......

Actually I think I might just put a revised version of this post onto yor topic - see if that gets any sensible result............
-------------------------------------------------

PS - Just done that, hopefully it may get some of 'em to think a bit more deeply about pollution, but then again, Pigs may some day fly.............

So if TW made £11 profit for every litre of sewage they dump in the river in 2009, I wonder how much it would cost to mitigate the effects of that litre.

Well, between us I think we've made one or two people take a closer look at the problem.

Was that you Ed - 2nd from last post?

Admin, can we move this to the 'environmental' section please.........?
