Yes - they are doing works to the banks: "revertment" or some such term. From reading a notice at Bell Weir, I seem to recall the works are due to finish this month some time. EDIT: "Revetment": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revetment

| Thanks mate, we will get something sorted out.
As a general note to everyone, let us know what you see, hear. All the info gets fed back to the EA and they do take notice. So, good or bad, post it up folks.

| THERE was some people on Penton hook Island, youngster/teens, around 6, light a fire, I think the police helicopter was there, a number of people fishing over night, two vans reversed down side road at 0400hrs, with "I am reversing sounds", to pick all thire stuff up, all swims where clean, they are getting wise to me and not leaving any stuff behind | |

| Alright guys, Got a text from David informing me of the latest sewage discharge at Hammersmith, had to work this afternoon, but have been watching the river for the last two hours, the river looks perfect (apart from the colour), nice flow, very gentle upstream wind, it looks like a mill pond, a stick float anglers paradise, the only problem is, in that two hours of watching, i have not seen one fish rise, normally at this time of the year and at this time of evening the water is alive with fish topping, not any more, its been like this every morning and evening since they polluted it on the 6th of june. You can see when the tide is right out, that the gravel areas on the shore are covered in mud (liquidised turd), when they are normally covered with green growth. Two Port of London vessels ( namely Chelsea and Richmond) have been up and down, but no sign of either of the bubblers. I wish i had time to fish it, but i,m to busy at the moment and will be for the forseeable future, but if the truth be told my hearts not in it anymore, they,ve destroyed this part of the river and replaced fish with condoms and sanitary towels. Well done Thames Water, still you cant blame them can you, they have to look after their foreign investors dont they, poor loves. cheers james
ps. they still catch fish in the Ganges during the monsoon and they bury their bleeding dead in that river. welcome to Third World England.

| Thanks for the report James, really appreciate you getting down there.
If there was no bubbler, that is quite good news, about the only part.
From what you have seen and how well you know that area, it's been hit very hard.

| keith I'll put summit together james your eyes on the river are invaluable, the sentiments you feel come across loud and clear, and we all share'em for sure have you ever thought of doing a monthly pic of the same area over a few months, so we can all see the changes | |

| Who do you contact when dead dogs are exposed by the falling tide?, because right at this moment there is one lying belly up in the mud outside my place, by the looks of it, its a little white staf, probably a fighting dog, was told one was fished out two weeks ago near to fulham football ground. a very distressing sight james | |

| That sounds like something the police should be made aware of, there's more to it than just the one dead dog | |

| who you call for dead dogs is unclear, no-one it seems has responsibility, its a case of the police, local RSPCA and anyone else locally you can think of 2 dead staffs in 2 weeks sounds to much of a coincidence to me, I'd emphasise the possibility there may be an organised dog fighting mob operating | |

| Good news at last, the river still looks poorly, but i came home from work early 2.30pm and was greeted with the sight of at least twenty cormorants fishing in the margins on the barnes side of the river, i say fishing, but they were going bonkers, fighting each other and chasing fish all over the place, i saw two come up with what looked like bream?, could have been flounders, it was a bit too far to see. By the time i got over there, the tide was coming in and all the activity had stopped, coming back too my side of the river (hammersmith side), there are twelve cormorants perched up on the wharf. I never thought i would hear myself saying this, but i,m actually pleased too see this happening as it shows there are fish now back in this stretch, it might have been distressed fish, i dont know, but any sign of fish in this part of the river has got to be good news. cheers james | |

| Went to Crab Island yesterday, I must say this place changed a lot since last year, big well done to TAC and Keith. On a way back saw a guy using some sort of net /bait trap ,told him it was illegal and he could get £1000 fine , he moved 100 yards downstream to his mates and started using it again , passing by couple said they had a dead fish on the bank as well. I called EA and reported it, passing by couple said they will report it to lock keeper and police. BTW Keith you said you need to translate something,pm me the details and i will do it. | |
