Whilst perusing the AT in Smiths yesterday, i saw a little piece that TW had done like they did a year or so ago and had an accident which has killed off all the fish stocks in another tributary of the Thames.

After the incident on the Wandle, you would have expected that they would get their act together, surely it can't be that difficult.

mate its cheaper to pollute, pay the fine and compensation, than prevent accidents

Thanks for posting this up Mark, does make very depressing reading though.

Seems it is a 3 mile stretch that was affected and as it is only a shallow brook, the starvation of oxygen is amplified.

TW have admitted responsibilty and offered to restock the area. Lets hope they are forced to restock and recieve some penalties.

the only good thing, if this is possible is thames waters track record is so poor they dont even try to deny it. in 2003 the roding was polluted by a fly tipped septic tank while the owners were on holiday. the EA turned off there pumps and overnight more fish died, then the EAsaid we will restock it which they didn,t the fish farm had a virus. no one has paid up 5lb barbel wiped out carp, tench, chubb,20lb pike, 2lb roach and large perch all gone and no one cares.

thats why we've got the TAC buddy, to make damn sure that those that do care, can communicate with one another, and somewhere along the line, make a genuine difference,
lets hope and keep trying on the thames, and if people like what they see and hear, we can try to help them with their own rivers
