Has anybody been to Penton Hook lately?
Was wondering if it needs a tidy up before the new season.

Had a chat with Stuart, too late in the year now as fish will be spawning.
Pencilled in for next Feb!

Hi Ed,
Has anybody got back to you regarding Penton Hook breeding channel.?
It would be a shame to dismiss it after all the work TAC members have put in to it.

Thanks for the reminder, I've just pinged Stu.
I've been off-forum and facebook for a while, to explain my lack of response.
Cheers, Ed.

I popped down to Penton Hook this afternoon, I'm not convinced that there is anything much for us to do.  The water is flowing nicely with no notable blockages in the spawning channel.

Fishing platforms are all in good condition:

Fished 3 different swims last Sunday in February, the river was a torrent and it was sunny but really
cold. The walk up to the platform swims was well kept and a big well done to TAC members.
There was a few hardy dog walkers and a few good conversations and  despite my best efforts, I could not buy
a bite. Enjoyable day in a weird sort of way.
