Thanks for the dates Colin, appreciated. Question for you though, why has the draw-off been extended to around 6 weeks from the usual 3 weeks? I know it was extended last year due to outstanding work that was required, is it much the same reasons? If so, any ideas what's happening in terms of repairs etc.

Cheers for any info' Colin,

The main cables to which the counter weights are attached have to be replaced on two of the weirs. The length of the draw off is dictated by this time consuming programme. The other was done last year, its near failure comng as a bit of a surprise....

The swim u caught the zander from mate is the most popular during run off and one we all target once darkness comes .
Looks like there will be lots of competition to get there !! Ill be down there silly o clock for night and morning tides to get a head start on everyone and empty the swim with zander and perch before I go home for breakfast :-)
And willie ill make sure we get that perch for you in the first week too ! Ill be armed with lives at the ready m8 . Hopefully we will get will , James and oli down there in the first week and all fish together over a coffee and a catch up :-)

Not my thing Ade - would rather walk the other way when I see swims heavily fished.

You'll catch well though like you usually do so will hopefully be worth the combat fishing. Good luck mate Smile

Same here to be honest Steve but need to get my 3rd pb before Xmas or I lose £50 I bet with my bro !!
A zander over my current thames pb of 9.15 is all I'm asking - got two weeks off starting 29th of this month to have a proper go with the right tides and evenings during the week when everyone is at work .
Fingers crossed - it'll give me great pleasure to grab a fifty off my brother :-)

Guys, I need a favour. When this thread started I posted about trying to retrieve a lost mud weight. Unfortunately this Friday & Saturday I am helping a mate move to Wales and then Sunday morning I am on the TAC pike day.

So if any of you are near the Teddington island on Saturday could you please have a look at the area roughly between the end of the high wall at the end of the weir pool and the upstream end of the pontoon that runs parallel with the island.

The mud weight is cast lead about 8" in diameter and about 2" thick, it has a stainless steel U bolt with a SS ring attached. There's beer involved if anyone finds it for me.

Cheers.

Hi Ade, hmmm.....good luck with the heavy flow, my guess is that'll still be running off before you have any chance of normal draw-off levels...!! Shocked
