river roding with the EA and thames 21 ( for 2 TAC members)

hi all
me and john have been requested by the enviroment agency and thames 21 to meet them on the roding and help them in providing a sensible plan to improve the river habitat for insects and fish. after years of sending e-mails and requesting assistance. it does seem strange that this comes 7 months after my last e-mail which i added i was a TAC member. the head of fisheries for our area who i have spoke to on the telephone in the past will be there but with working on projects with the EA through the TAC i am all for the EA. problems started when the old mill lockgates were removed and a weir was put in creating a mile of deep slow water almost stopping in summer with floating weed blocking out all light and killing most things except mr cray. this happens on the 8th may.

Because of the prevailing weather conditions our clubs meeting with the EA as been put on hold.It was felt it would been hard to make a report on recommendations to improve the River Roding whilst it was over the banks
in some stretches.Thanks for the TAC,s words of support and we will of cause tell you of any progress.
